Giant/Stop & Shop Expands Value Program to Paper Aisle

QUINCY, Mass. - Ahold USA banners Stop & Shop and Giant-Landover here will extend price reductions to the paper aisle starting today, the retailers said. Part of Ahold‘s Value Improvement Program initiated in the produce aisle this fall, the program offers lower everyday prices on an edited selection of goods in the paper aisle including napkins, paper towels, facial and bathroom tissue, trash bags, wraps, paper plates and cups and storage containers. “By challenging some outdated beliefs on grocery retailing, and by changing the way we do business, we¹re finding new ways to lower the cost of a typical family‘s Weekly shopping trip while preserving the quality shopping experience that customers expect,” Jose Alvarez, president and chief executive officer of Giant and Stop & Shop, said in a statement.
