HumanKind Water Wins Wal-Mart's 'Get on the Shelf'

BENTONVILLE, Ark.— A bottled water called HumanKind that donates all net profits to clean drinking water in under developed communities is the grand prize winner of Wal-Mart Stores' “Get on the Shelf” contest for inventors, as voted by the public.

PlateTopper, a kitchen product that transforms dinner plates into airtight food storage containers, came in second and SnapIt Eyeglass Repair which claims to fix glasses in 30 seconds came in third.

Wal-Mart Reports Sustainability Progress

All three products will be available on Walmart.com and HumanKind Water will also be on shelves in select Wal-Mart stores soon.

“Get on the Shelf has brought out the best in American ingenuity and creativity with products that are clever, fun and useful,” said Joel Anderson, president and chief executive officer of Walmart.com.
