Several Retailers to Carry Campbell’s Pink-and-White Cans This Year

Fourteen million limited-edition pink-and-white Campbell’s Soup cans will grace the shelves of 15,000 stores in October as part of National Breast Cancer Awareness month.

CAMDEN, N.J. — Fourteen million limited-edition pink-and-white Campbell’s Soup cans will grace the shelves of 15,000 stores in October as part of National Breast Cancer Awareness month. Campbell’s first replaced its iconic red-and-white labels on 7 million cans of its fastest-moving soup varieties — condensed chicken noodle and tomato — as part of an exclusive promotion forged with 2,500 Kroger stores last year. Campbell’s contributed a flat $250,000 through Kroger to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, as part of the deal. This year’s promotion involves several additional retailers. “Basically, we’ll distribute these cans to any retailer willing to partake by ordering cans by the pallet,” Campbell’s spokesman John Faulkner told SN. “It gives us an opportunity to show support and drive awareness and make a contribution to a worthy organization.” Although there is no link between individual sales of pink-and-white cans and charitable contributions made by Campbell’s, the manufacturer plans to donate a total of $300,000 to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and breastcancer.org.
