FDA: Cat Food Contaminated With Salmonella
WASHINGTON -- The Food and Drug Administration is warning consumers not to purchase or use Wild Kitty Cat Food due to the presence of salmonella. The FDA detected the presence of the pathogen during routine testing. Cats or other pets consuming this food may become infected with salmonella, as can people who handle the food or touch pets who‘ve consumed the food, according to the FDA. The specific product covered by the warning is the Chicken With Clam Recipe of Wild Kitty Raw all-natural, frozen cat food in 3.5-ounce and 1-pound plastic containers. It is sold at retail locations nationwide. The manufacturer declined to recall the product despite several requests by the FDA to do so, the FDA said.Subscribe / Renew to Supermarket News
