CPG Executives Meet with Bush to Discuss Childhood Obesity
WASHINGTON -- President Bush met with food, beverage and entertainment executives here Thursday to discuss ways to battle childhood obesity, according to published reports. Representatives from General Mills, Coca-Cola, Kraft, Kellogg, PepsiCo, Univision Communications and Nickelodeon Television discussed ways to improve healthy food offerings and promote physical fitness through advertising campaigns. Going forward, Secretary of Health and Human Services Michael Leavitt will work with DreamWorks Animation and the Ad Council to launch a series of public service announcements to encourage children and their families to lead healthy lifestyles. Characters from the movie Shrek will be part of the campaign to encourage children to “Be a Player” and get up and play for an hour a day.Subscribe / Renew to Supermarket News
