I recently transferred to san francisco and while Target offers refunds or store credit for any returned item with a receipt and store credit without if they carry the item, i had to mail kmart headquarters in hoffman estates, illlinois an unopened gift for which management in seattle refused to give any kind of refund, and coleman company headquarters in wichita, kansas an item i bought at sears for which they did not accept returns. I got an exchange from both HQ's, but it would have been nice if these stores were customer-friendly from the get-go. (And the post office is refusing to honor the small insurance i took out on three cartons i sent to my new residence which they lost, another company that should "fly the customer friendly skies" of target, which also has equal or bettter merchandise to offer and better in-house customer service than those other three inferior companies.
