Unified said the program, which will end Aug. 16, involves 27 students from Southern California, eight from Northern California, 10 from Seattle and six from Portland, Ore., who are still attending high school or are recent graduates. They were selected after completing an extensive application and interview process, the company noted.

Through the program they will have opportunities to work in various jobs throughout the organization and participate in hands-on instructional activities focused on building job skills and developing their knowledge of the industry, Unified explained. The program also provides students with the opportunity to win scholarships from Unified to help further their education.
