April 16, 2012: Easter Boosts Total Store Sales

The Easter holiday is a big sales driver for food retailers, but much of the incremental gains take place outside the seasonal aisle, according to data provided to SN by RetailNext, which analyzed 1 million points of data related to the shopping behavior of 365,000 customers across multiple food, mass and consumer goods chains. RetailNext uses in-store video and other means to analyze shopper activity in the store.
