Data Points: Coffee’s Single Cup Runneth Over

Single-cup coffee makers are brewing more coffee than ever before, with 13% of Americans drinking java that started out as a pod, capsule or K-Cup, up from 4% in 2010, according to the NCA National Coffee Drinking Trends study. The machines have become so ubiquitous that one in three Americans have access to one at home and/or at work, and 70% of them consciously choose to use it instead of buy a drink at a coffee shop, according to a Harris Interactive poll.
