CPG companies have reduced their costs as a percent of sales, but might have also lowered their service levels, according to the Grocery Manufacturers Association 2012 Supply Chain Benchmarking report, compiled by Boston Consulting Group and released last week. In addition, the report, based on surveys and interviews with executives, found opportunities to improve profits and sales through collaboration and by reducing SKU complexity.
