Bottom Dollar Readies 2 Philadelphia Openings

SALISBURY, N.C. — New Bottom Dollar Food stores are expected to open Thursday in the Philadelphia suburbs of Germantown and Ambler, Pa., the company, a division of Delhaize America here, said Wednesday.

The openings will grow Bottom Dollar to 43 stores in greater Philadelphia and 62 stores overall. Both stores are approximately 18,000 square feet.

"There has been a great deal of anticipation for the openings of the Germantown and Ambler stores," Bottom Dollar Food president Meg Ham said in a statement. "At Bottom Dollar Food, we are excited to deliver unbelievably low prices on fresh produce, quality meats, and the private and national brands that matter most to our customers. We look forward to bringing our 'We Won't Be Beat' price guarantee to customers in Germantown and Ambler and being a great partner in these communities."

The first 200 customers at the new locations on Thursday will receive a free Bottom Dollar Food reusable bag filled with groceries, and additional customers will receive free reusable bags throughout the day. The new stores will open to the public at 8 a.m., following ribbon-cutting ceremonies.
