A&P TAPS BRACE FOR NEW POST

MONTVALE, N.J. — A&P here said it has named board member Frederic F. “Jake” Brace to the newly created position of chief administrative officer. He will oversee A&P finance and accounting, real estate and information systems departments. Brace, 52, had a 20-year career at United Airlines and was executive vice president and chief financial officer there from 2002 until he retired in 2008, during which time he “played a critical leadership role in United's successful turnaround,” A&P said. He will report to Sam Martin, who was named president and chief executive officer last month. “Over the last year, Jake Brace has provided critical insight to the company on a range of important issues as a member of our board of directors,” Martin said.

KRAFT'S STEIN SUCCEEDS BELCASTRO

NORTHFIELD, Ill. — Kraft Foods has named Regenia Stein vice president of business performance, industry development and communications, succeeding Denny Belcastro, who recently retired from the company. For the past two years, Stein was vice president, trade strategy, integrated planning and execution. Her new position incorporates industry affairs and communications into her current responsibilities, which include end-to-end business process management, trade strategy and collaborative planning for the North American sales function. She will report directly to Mike Hsu, president, Kraft North America, sales, customer service and logistics. “Regenia has an impressive track record with strong retail relationships and will help to further accelerate our business performance,” said Hsu.
