Pickerill, Lawson named division leaders at AWG

Associated Wholesale Grocers on Tuesday announced a slate of new executive appointments including naming Bob Pickerill to the role of SVP and manager of the cooperative wholesaler’s Kansas City division.

Pickerill, who assumed his new role April 27, most recently was SVP and manager of AWG’s Fort Worth division. Linda Lawson as been promoted to succeed Pickerill as SVP and manager of the Forth Worth division.

Lawson is in her 20th year with Kansas City, Kan.-based AWG, having begun in the company’s Oklahoma City division, and has worked her way up through the organization. Prior to joining AWG, she held various leadership roles for Supervalu and Kroger in store operations, store management, and deli/bakery operations.

Tye Anthony will relocate to VP sales and marketing for the Fort Worth division. Anthony has been with AWG in Nashville since August 2013 as VP of sales and merchandising. He has worked in the food industry for over 25 years with leadership roles at retail for Randalls/Tom Thumb, Safeway, Bi-Lo and Ahold USA. Anthony has also worked as an in-house consultant at Family Dollar.

Succeeding Anthony as Nashville VP of sales and merchandising is Terry Roberts. Roberts has been with AWG since 2003 and has held a number of positions including group sales manager, senior group sales manager, grocery merchandising director, and most recently director of fresh sales. Prior to joining AWG, Terry worked with Malone & Hyde and Fleming in various leadership roles.
