Sanders Resigns as United CEO

Dan J. Sanders, executive vice president and chief executive officer of United Supermarkets here, has resigned from the company, according to an announcement last week by Gantt and Matt Bumstead, co-presidents. Robert Taylor, vice president of logistics, will serve as interim CEO, effective immediately. Taylor has been a member of the company's leadership

SANDERS RESIGNS AS UNITED CEO

LUBBOCK, Texas — Dan J. Sanders, executive vice president and chief executive officer of United Supermarkets here, has resigned from the company, according to an announcement last week by Gantt and Matt Bumstead, co-presidents. Robert Taylor, vice president of logistics, will serve as interim CEO, effective immediately. Taylor has been a member of the company's leadership team since July 2007, when United purchased R.C. Taylor Distributing. Sanders was named CEO in 2004 after holding other executive roles at United.

NEW PRES. FOR NASH FINCH WHOLESALE

MINNEAPOLIS — Nash Finch Co. here said last week that Christopher A. Brown has been named president and chief operating officer of Nash Finch Wholesale, a new position. He will remain an executive vice president of the company and continue to report to Alec C. Covington, president and CEO of Nash Finch. In the new role, Brown will be responsible for all aspects of the company's wholesale business as well as its conventional corporate-owned stores. In a related move, Dan M. Davidson has been promoted to vice president, distribution, reporting to Brown. He previously was vice president, transportation and logistics in the company's supply-chain department.

OLSEN NAMED PRESIDENT OF FIAE

FLEMINGTON, N.J. — Food Industry Association Executives, the network of state food-industry associations here, has named Jim Olsen as the new president of the group. He succeeds Barbara McConnell, who had recently announced her plans to retire. Olsen currently is president of the Utah Food Industry Association, Salt Lake City. He plans to step down from that post effective March 31, the UFIA said, to be succeeded by Dave Davis, vice president and general counsel.
