Unified Grocers, Los Angeles-based member-owned cooperative, said Monday it has promoted Terry Bodwin to vice president, chief human resources officer, a new position.
Bodwin was previously vice president, employee and labor relations.
The promotion is part of a restructuring designed to integrate and align all aspects of human resources companywide, Bob Ling, president and CEO, pointed out.
“Human resources is a key strategic partner for our business units and plays a key role in supporting the company’s business objectives,” he said. “Terry brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the position and the strategic vision to ensure that we recruit, develop and retain high-quality associates.”
According to Bodwin, “It’s absolutely vital our associates continue to have the right tools and training so they are prepared for what the future holds.”
Bodwin joined Unified in 2000 as director of labor relations; in 2006 she was named executive director, employee and labor relations, and in 2012 she added loss prevention and environmental health and safety to her responsibilities. She formerly worked for Ralphs and Alpha Beta.
