What’s ahead for innovation in food retailing?

What’s ahead on the innovation front, including with formulations and recipes? Citing Publix Super Market’s popular Aprons Simple Meals program, Maria Brous, director of media and community relations, adds, “Customers want convenience, they want affordability, they want variety. We continue to look for ways for customers to be able to grab and go,” whether they’re cooking beginners or experts.

Brous was interviewed for SN’s five-part FMI Connect 2015 video series, along with Randy Edeker, FMI Connect chairman, and president, chairman and CEO of Hy-Vee; Natalie Menza, manager of health and wellness, Wakefern Food Corp.; Neil Kudrinko, president and CEO, Kudrinko’s; and Nicola Farinetti, CEO, Eataly USA. SN’s David Orgel and Supermarket Guru Phil Lempert conducted the interviews.
