The Grocery Manufacturers Association has appointed Kelsey Johnson its director of state affairs, with responsibility for GMA’s state advocacy activities in the Midwest and Southern regions of the U.S.
Johnson joins GMA from Hill Capitol Strategies where she represented corporations, coalitions, nonprofits, trade and governmental associations on a variety of issues. In addition to spending five years in the business sector, Johnson spent three as a staffer in the offices of the Minnesota House, Senate and Attorney General. In 2012, she managed a state Senate campaign that wasn’t favored to win but ultimately did.
