MONTVALE, N.J. — A&P has launched the “Live Better Challenge,” an informal wellness initiative that includes motivational tips, meals plans and professional nutrition advice.
In an online blog, Jacqueline Gomes, A&P’s corporate dietitian, described the effort as “an opportunity to challenge yourself to go after your health and wellness goals.”
Shoppers are encouraged to visit www.livebetterwellness.com/challenge, and download a free weekly meal plan customized to specific wellness goals, including reducing sugar and controlling weight.
They are also invited to use the chain’s existing health and wellness tools, like joining the Live Better Wellness Club, which provides product savings.
Consumers are advised to use A&P’s “Wellness Factor” shelf tags as a guide to reach their health-related goals. The color-coded tags highlight products in four areas: Sugar Smart, Heart Healthy, Prevention and Weight Control.
Gomes provides her email, and encourages shoppers to ask her health-related questions.
“I’m here to help point you in the right direction to living healthier and reaching your goals,” Gomes states.
The program is being offered across all A&P banners: A&P, Pathmark, Superfresh, The Food Emporium and Waldbaum’s.
