Martin’s runs 100-day health challenge

Starting on May 5, Martin’s Super Markets, South Bend, Ind., is running a 100-day challenge as part of its new Be Smart, Be Well initiative.

Ten to 12 customers and employees will be chosen to participate in the challenge, and they will also have access to the Beacon Health System’s gym. The health system is partnering with the retailer on its Be Smart, Be Well program.

“They’ll have a monthly wellness workshop and a monthly consultation with me and group classes throughout the 100 days,” health and wellness advisor Maria Haisley told SN.

There are no costs associated with the 100-day program, but in the future Martin’s plans to make the challenge ongoing and charge a fee.

“So we’re right now in the planning stages and getting applicants for it from the community and employees.”

There has been a lot of interest, Haisley said.

“It’s going to be hard to only pick 10 to 12 people.”
