BOISE, Idaho — Albertsons LLC here is encouraging more people to sign up for its “Rx-tra Savings” prescription discount program by temporarily offering free membership.
Those who join for a one-time $10 fee per household get a $10 coupon on a future trip to Albertsons. The coupon is valid through March 30.
The program offers a 30-day supply on over 500 generic medications for $4.99; and up to a 90-day supply on over 500 generic medications for $10.99. It also provides discounts on additional generic and brand-name prescriptions.
“Your health and the health of your family is important to us,” Albertsons writes in promotional materials. “Albertsons Rx-tra Savings is a membership prescription discount program allowing you and your family great deals on generic and brand-name medications.”
The program launched in 2008 with the 30-day offering, and expanded last year to include the 90-day supply.
Albertson’s LLC operates over 230 stores under the Albertsons banner in Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Louisiana, New Mexico and Texas.
