NEW YORK — Americans are still cutting back in a variety of areas to save money, including buying more store brands and bringing their lunch to work, according to a Harris Interactive poll released yesterday. The online survey of 2,576 adults, conducted in January, showed that 63% have “purchased more generic brands” in the past six months to save money, and another 12% have considered doing so.
