MONTVALE, N.J. — A&P has launched a new pet club in collaboration with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

MONTVALE, N.J. — A&P has launched a new pet club in collaboration with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

For every $100 in pet-related spending, Preferred Pet Club members get a coupon for $9 off their next grocery order, plus A&P will make a $1 donation to the ASPCA.

Additionally, pet owners who sign up for A&P's Live Better Wellness Club will save an additional 10% on all of their pet prescriptions through Dec. 31.

The club is running in all A&P, Pathmark, Waldbaum's, The Food Emporium and Superfresh banner stores.

"Through this program, we are especially proud to support the meaningful work of the ASPCA, while giving pet owners even more reason to look at their neighborhood A&P, Pathmark, Waldbaum's, The Food Emporium or Superfresh store as the go-to resource for their pet care needs," John Moritz, A&P’s senior vice president of marketing, said in a statement.

"The fact that customers will be able to help support the ASPCA by doing something as simple as grocery shopping is really remarkable," Elysia Howard, vice president of marketing and licensing for the ASPCA, said in a statement. "The generous contributions we'll receive from A&P through the Preferred Pet Club Program will allow us to do even more life-saving work across the country."
