A&P to Sell ‘Stylish, Reusable’ Lunch Bags

The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co. said yesterday it would sell a line of "stylish, reusable" lunch bags at all its banners: A&P, The Food Emporium, Pathmark, SuperFresh and Waldbaum's.

MONTVALE, N.J. — The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co. here said yesterday it would sell a line of "stylish, reusable" lunch bags at all its banners: A&P, The Food Emporium, Pathmark, SuperFresh and Waldbaum's.

The line, made from post-consumer waste materials and highlighted by five designs, will debut at the end of February. Priced at two bags for $3 and merchandised in the dairy aisle, the bag designs include:

-A black, white and red bag reads “Smile!” on one side, with a smiley face image created from kiwis, strawberries and bananas on the other side.
-A lime green bag reads “Hugs & Knishes,” with an image of knishes.
-A bright blue and yellow bag announces “I’m On My Munch Break,” with a turkey and cheese sandwich featured on the other side.
-A red-and-white checkered bag reads “Chow, Baby!” with spaghetti featured in the background.
-An orange, brown and yellow bag reads “Don’t give up the chip!” with an image of a chocolate chip cookie.
