Stores will be 50,000 to 100,000 square feet and will offer between 6,000 and 10,000 SKUs encompassing groceries, clothing, footwear and other general merchandise for restaurant owners, hotel operators, caterers, fruit and vegetable resellers, other retail stores, offices and institutions. Each store will employ more than 170 people, the company said.

Bharti Wal-Mart said it has already opened a distribution center in Punjab, and additional DCs — each catering to facilities within a 60- to 100-mile radius — are expected to follow, serving both cash-and-carry stores and Bharti Retail’s Easy Day stores.
