MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Bi-Lo, Mauldin, S.C., sponsored a “Free Gas Wednesday” this week at an Exxon gas station here to re-launch fuelperks! in this market.
Free gas — up to 20 gallons — was pumped beginning at 3:30 p.m. on April 14 to the first 100 customers in line with a My Bi-Lo Bonuscard.
John Conway, senior manager of consumer marketing, Bi-Lo, said people started lining up at 1 p.m. for the late afternoon free gas offer, and other give-aways.
Since the program was launched last year, Conway told SN fuelperks! has been an outstanding value for Bi-Lo customers. However, the program ran into technical problems with its initial gas station partners. The program is being re-launched with eight new fueling station partners.
For every $50 a shopper spends at Bi-Lo, they receive a 5-cent per gallon reward applied to their My Bi-Lo Bonuscard. Customers can redeem their fuelperks! rewards by swiping their bonuscard at participating gas stations.
