SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Big Y Foods is seeking customer feedback on the type of mobile app it should launch.
“We are looking to build a mobile app. What features would you find most useful?” Big Y wrote on its Facebook page.
Several dozen Facebook fans offered a host of suggestions, including nutrition facts, health tips and recipes. They also said they wanted an app that can identify the aisle location of each item on their shopping list. Another common suggestion was a mobile version of the Big Y coin program. Big Y gives out silver and gold coins at checkout. Shoppers can use the coins to get exclusive discounts on a future shopping trip.
“Provide an app that lets shoppers win coins by phone,” one person wrote. “I'd love a way to store the coins on my phone so I never forget them at home,” another person wrote.
