Brookshire Brings WWII Vets to DC

TYLER, Texas – Brookshire Grocery Co. treated 33 World War II veterans to a free trip to Washington on May 10-12.

TYLER, Texas – Brookshire Grocery Co. treated 33 World War II veterans to a free trip to Washington on May 10-12.

This marked the third annual “WWII Heroes Flight” trip that the retailer has sponsored.

During the trip, the vets visited the World War II Memorial and other historical sites, including the Iwo Jima Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, the United States Capitol and the Air and Space Museum.

“We are very grateful for the service provided by these veterans,” according to Brookshire’s. “The freedoms we enjoy today were defended by these veterans and many others from different conflicts.”

Participating vets reside in various communities in Texas and Louisiana.
