Buehler’s Launches Recycling Program for Employee Lounge

WOOSTER, Ohio — Buehler Food Markets here recently began rolling out a recycling program aimed at getting store employees to recycle magazines, beverage cans and waste paper in the employee lounge.

After a pilot at one store in June, the store retailer has begun equipping store lounges with signs, waste containers and green paint. The majority of Buehler’s 13 stores –those that have access to recycling services—will be in the new program, said Scott Buehler, vice president of real estate and new store development.

“Our cardboard gets put in big production balers for recycling, and now we’re going to work on employees when they’re done with their magazine in the lounge,” he said.
