C-Store Chain Offers Online Shopping

MIAMI — Farm Stores here, a chain of 31 drive-through convenience stores, has launched Farm Stores iExpress, an online shopping service offering a full-line of products.

The service allows shoppers to order online at www.farmstores.com and pick up orders at 17 Farm Stores locations in South Florida.

While the stores normally stock just staples such as milk, bread, eggs and bananas, the online service draws from a full line of supermarket products available at the chain's Gardner's Super Market subsidiary, and then transfers the orders to the Farm Store locations where they are kept stored, frozen and refrigerated until they are picked up.

"About eight years ago we thought, 'Wouldn't it be great if people could shop their entire grocery list without having to get out of the car?'" said Carlos Bared, chief executive officer of Farm Stores, in a statement. That concept, merged with current technology and consumer demand, became Farmstores.com.

"We've hired the best experts in the field of online grocery shopping and have implemented state-of-the art mechanisms to ensure that we deliver an online grocery shopping experience that is competitively priced with traditional grocery supermarkets and truly convenient for our customers," added Bared.
