CDC, FDA Encourage Consumers to Clear Pantries of Recalled Items

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention here and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration are concerned that illnesses will continue to occur if people eat recalled peanut-containing products that are still on their shelves at home.

ATLANTA — The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention here and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration are concerned that illnesses will continue to occur if people eat recalled peanut-containing products that are still on their shelves at home. To help remedy the situation, CDC is providing a Web graphic (shown here) to help keep consumers informed about recall activities.

Visitors to www.cdc.gov/socialmedia/blogger_graphics.html are invited to add a graphic to their site that lets people know that they've checked their cupboards for recalled products. The Salmonella Typhimurium case count is 677, and more than 3,200 products have been recalled.
