Clements Is IGA USA International Retailer of Year

IGA here said Friday Tony Clements, owner of Olney IGA in Olney, Ill., has been named IGA USA’s international retailer of the year. Other finalists for the award were Charlie Gels, Gels’ IGA, St. Henry, Ohio; Robert Hurley, Hurley's Fresh Market IGA, Towanda, Pa.; Allen R. Milam, Milam's Market IGA, Stuart, Fla.; Tyler Meyers, Kress IGA Supermarket, Seattle; and Chris and Robin Sanford, Wadesboro IGA, Wadesboro, N.C.

CHICAGO — IGA here said Friday Tony Clements, owner of Olney IGA in Olney, Ill., has been named IGA USA’s international retailer of the year.

IGA said Clements was selected for his store's high operating standards; the wide variety of personalized services it offers; and its support for the local community, including providing jobs to specially challenged students and to individuals receiving public aid.

According to Mark Batenic, IGA USA president and chief executive officer, “No customer request goes unanswered at Olney IGA because of Tony, to whom each customer is like family.”

Clements will be formally honored at IGA's Global Rally, scheduled for mid-April in Nashville, Tenn.
