Coborn’s to Acquire SimonDelivers

Retailer Coborn’s said it would acquire SimonDelivers, the Internet grocery company that recently went out of business, for an undisclosed sum, and would reopen the service as CobornsDelivers in October.

ST. CLOUD, Minn. — Retailer Coborn’s here said it would acquire SimonDelivers, the Internet grocery company that recently went out of business, for an undisclosed sum, and would reopen the service as CobornsDelivers in October. SimonDelivers, founded in 1999, shut down operations in July, citing rising gasoline prices and declining sales in a weakening economy. Coborn’s, which operates 34 stores and currently offers Internet ordering and delivery, said it would allow customers who used SimonDelivers to reactivate their accounts and access their past order histories.
