WASHINGTON — The majority of consumers believe that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration plays a vital role ensuring that the U.S. food supply is safe, according to poll conducted by Hart Research and American Viewpoint and commissioned by the Pew Charitable Trusts. Indeed, 66% of those surveyed said they would support more funding for food safety initiatives outlined by the FDA.
