LARCHMONT, N.Y. — D’Agostino Supermarkets here has agreed to offer its shoppers the option to use a Wi-Fi-enabled home ordering system from Ikan, Stamford, Conn. The system features a home scanning device that shoppers use to scan items before they are disposed of, thereby populating an online grocery list. Shoppers can edit the list online and then transmit it to D’Agostino, which will select and deliver the products to their home. The device also tells the consumer how to best recycle a used container. D’Agostino will demonstrate the system at its stores beginning Friday.
