Dickson Retires at Ruddick Annual Meeting

CHARLOTTE — Alan T. Dickson, a co-founder and former president of Ruddick Corp., parent of the Harris Teeter chain here, officially stepped down from its board of directors at the company’s annual meeting Friday.

CHARLOTTE — Alan T. Dickson, a co-founder and former president of Ruddick Corp., parent of the Harris Teeter chain here, officially stepped down from its board of directors at the company’s annual meeting Friday.

Dickson, who announced his intentions to step down late last year, founded Ruddick with his brother Stuart Dickson in 1968. In other events at the annual meeting, shareholders of Ruddick elected the remaining 10 members of Ruddick’s board and ratified the appointment of KPMG as the firm’s registered accounting firm.
