SALISBURY, N.C. — Android and BlackBerry users are urging Food Lion to offer an app for them, not just for iPhone users.
Nearly 40 Droid and BlackBerry users responded to a Food Lion Facebook post about the launch of an iPhone app that lets shoppers view weekly specials, get coupons and search for recipes.
“BlackBerry app would be nice, thank you kindly,” one Food Lion Facebook fan wrote.
Droid users were just as vocal. “Android phones are outselling iPhones,” another person wrote. “Wouldn't it make more sense to have an app for Android, too?"
A Virginia resident said her area is dominated by Droids due to poor AT&T (an iPhone provider) signals.
“The only coupons I even have access to are the ones I get when I swipe my Food Lion key tag. So I would really like a Droid version,” the woman wrote.
