WASHINGTON — Former vice president for global food safety at Campbell Soup Co., George Dunaif, has been appointed vice president of food safety and technical services for the Grocery Manufacturers Association.
"GMA has a world-class food safety practice, and I am certain that George Dunaif has the experience and leadership skills necessary to take GMA's food safety and technical services to an even higher level of effectiveness," said GMA President and Chief Executive Officer Pam Bailey, in a statement.
Dunaif will report to Leon Bruner, GMA senior vice president for scientific and regulatory affairs and chief science officer. He will begin his duties on August 15.
While at Campbell, Dunaif was responsible for the company's worldwide food safety function, including toxicology, microbiology, process safety and analytical chemistry. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Foods from SUNY College at Buffalo, a Master of Science in Human Nutrition from Iowa State and a Ph.D. in Toxicology, with minors in Pharmacology and Pathology, from Cornell University.
