E.W. James Plans Small-Format Fresh Store

E.W. James & Sons Supermarkets said yesterday it is developing a new, small-format “expanded convenience food store” concept focusing on fresh offerings.

UNION CITY, Tenn. — E.W. James & Sons Supermarkets here said yesterday it is developing a new, small-format “expanded convenience food store” concept focusing on fresh offerings.

Measuring 5,000 square feet, Neighborhood Family Market is expected to open this fall in Gleason, Tenn. It will offer fresh meat, produce and dairy, as well as prepared foods, with a seating area and a drive-through window.

“We are excited about this new concept store, which will offer the folks in Gleason a hometown market,” said Ken Pink, president of E.W. James & Sons, in a prepared statement.

E.W. James & Sons Supermarkets is a family-owned company with stores in Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Mississippi.
