MATTHEWS, N.C. — Family Dollar Stores here said Tuesday it has named Trey Johnson to the new post of senior vice president, food.
Johnson was previously vice president and general merchandise manager, food and consumables, for Sears Holdings Corp., Chicago, where he created the limited-assortment food concept for Kmart.
He was previously chief merchandising officer for Wal-Mart Stores, Bentonville, Ark., where he led the development of the company's Marketside format. He has also held leadership positions at Supervalu, Minneapolis; Albertsons, Boise, Idaho; and American Food Stores.
