VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Farm Fresh here said yesterday that all 44 Hampton Roads supermarkets will offer Fuel Rewards on selected items throughout the store beginning Dec. 15.
“The Fuel Rewards program has been very well received by our customers in the stores where it is currently offered,” said Ron Dennis, president and chief operating officer of Farm Fresh. “We are excited that all stores will now be participating, giving all of our customers the opportunity to save on their fuel purchases. Since 2006, the program has saved our customers over $1.5 million.”
All participating items are marked with a tag bearing an image of a gas pump, indicating the discount per gallon the customer will receive upon purchasing the item. Discount rates start at 1 cent per gallon and can go as high as 15 cents per gallon. For example, Pam Cooking Spray carries a discount of 2 cents per gallon, and Scoop Away Cat Litter in a 14-poung bag saves customers 8 cents per gallon.
