Valentine’s Day is the theme of Food Lion’s latest online game.

SALISBURY, N.C. — Valentine’s Day is the theme of Food Lion’s latest online game. Located on foodlion.com, the game involves using a bow and arrow to “shoot” at hearts emblazoned with the Food Lion logo. Once they finish playing the game, players can download a coupon for $2 savings on a 12-ounce box of Whitman’s chocolates and a dozen roses.

Created by website design firm Greenfield Multimedia, Wilmington, N.C., the game is the latest installment in a variety of Internet games held over the last year to encourage interaction with the Food Lion brand by awarding coupons for national brands and private labels. Over the holidays there was a “Snowball Fight Game,” and for Thanksgiving Food Lion featured a “Cranberry Cannon Game.”
