EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market is voluntarily recalling its Fresh & Easy Chewy Chocolate Chip Granola Bars because an ingredient has the potential for salmonella contamination. The recall was initiated by Thumb Oilseed Producers, supplier of the ingredient.
Fresh & Easy shoppers can return unused product, empty containers or present a receipt for a refund. Fresh & Easy is a Tesco banner.
Lovin Oven, which is also supplied by Thumb Oilseed, is recalling certain Health Valley Organic Peanut Crunch, Dutch Apple and Wildberry Cherry Granola bars. The bars contain organic toasted soy grits from the company.
Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
