EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Markets here has installed a system in about 36 stores that prevents temperatures from being too cool in refrigerated aisles, said Airius, Longmont, Calif., provider of the system.
Another five stores in California are also being equipped with the system, called the Air Pear Thermal Equalizer, which moves hot air from the ceiling down to the floor level. The Thermal Equalizer, which was installed by Enreps, Phoenix, also saves energy by reducing the workload on freezer case heaters and return air on cold cases, said Airius.
