NEW YORK — Online grocery specialist FreshDirect here is eyeing the construction of a new warehouse and distribution facility in the Bronx, according to documents filed with the city.
The company, founded in September of 2002, currently operates out of a 300,000-square-foot warehouse in the Long Island City section of Queens.
A notice filed by the New York City Industrial Development Agency states that Fresh Direct LLC and U.T.C. Trucking are seeking exemption from certain municipal taxes related to the construction of a 433,000-square-foot facility at the southern tip of the Bronx, about five miles from FreshDirect's current warehouse location.
