HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. — Sears Holdings here said Wednesday that Robin Michel, who recently left Giant-Landover as president, has joined Sears as senior vice president and president of food and consumables, and health and wellness.
"Robin brings to the company a wealth of expertise in the grocery and pharmacy industry, and we are excited to welcome her to our team," said Bruce Johnson, interim president and chief executive officer. "Under Robin's leadership, we'll be able to uniquely serve our customers by providing them greater value in all areas of health, including wellness, lifestyle, diet, and nutrition while offering over 1,000 pharmacy locations nationwide."
Sears operates about 3,900 stores in the U.S. and Canada under the Sears and Kmart banners.
Giant-Landover, a division of Ahold USA, said in December that Michel was leaving to puruse other opportunities and that Don Sussman, currently Ahold USA executive vice president, supply chain, would oversee the operations of the division on an interim basis until a successor is announced.
Michel had joined Giant in 2008 from Roundy's Supermarkets, Milwaukee, where she had been group vice president of procurement and merchandising.
