WASHINGTON — The Grocery Manufacturers Association is voicing support for the Affordable Food and Fuel for America Act. Cosponsored by Reps. Joseph Crowley, D-N.Y., and Mary Bono-Mack, R-Calif., it aims to reduce and eliminate the tax credit for alcohol fuel mixtures and the tariff on imported ethanol.

“By gradually shifting subsidies away from conventional biofuels toward second and third generation biofuels, the Affordable Food and Fuel for America Act will help accelerate the development of advanced fuels that simultaneously help to address our food, energy and climate security needs,” said Pam Bailey, president and chief executive officer of GMA, in a prepared statement.
