WASHINGTON — The Grocery Manufacturers Association will present retired Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of Del Monte Foods, Richard Wolford, and Campbell Soup Co. president and CEO, Douglas Conant, with the 2011 GMA Hall of Achievement Award.
"They represent the best of what our industry and the American business community at large has to offer, and I look forward to thanking them for their service and recognizing their achievements with this award at the Executive Conference this August," said GMA President Pam Bailey of the honorees.
In March, Wolford announced his retirement from Del Monte after nearly 15 years of leadership. He served as chairman of the GMA board of directors from January 2010 through February 2011.
Conant will end his ten-year tenure as president and CEO of Campbell when he steps down this July. He's been an active member of GMA's board of directors since 2001, and was chairman from January 2008 to January 2010.
