COLORADO SPRINGS — The Global Market Development Center here has released a new white paper entitled, “Flexible Spending Accounts: Maximizing Rewards At Retail.” The purpose of this GMDC white paper is to provide information on the retail opportunities related to FSAs. The paper also discusses what is needed for the mandatory installation of an inventory information approval system by retailers so they can continue accepting FSA debit cards and meet a Jan. 1, 2009 mandate. “The consumer who purchases items eligible to be paid for by their FSA is a shopper with untapped potential in the health beauty wellness categories at retail,” said Keith Wypyszynski, vice president of business development and chief member officer of GMDC. “This white paper helps outline to our retail members what is needed for the Jan. 1 mandate on implementing inventory information approval systems as well.” The white paper was developed for GMDC by Hamacher Resource Group, Milwaukee, and is being distributed to GMDC members by email.
