Goodspeed Re-Elected Unified Chairman

LOS ANGELES — Unified Grocers here said Richard E. Goodspeed has been elected to serve his third one-year term as chairman of the board of the member-owned cooperative.

Goodspeed previously served four years as president and chief executive officer of Vons and eight years as president and CEO of Lucky Stores before retiring in 1998. He is the principal of Goodspeed & Associates.

Lou Amen, chairman of Super A Foods here, was re-elected first vice chairman; and John Najjar, president of Cardiff Seaside Market, Cardiff, Calif., was re-elected second vice chairman. The company's 15 other board members were all re-elected.
