SAN ANTONIO — Cheese is in the spotlight at H.E. Butt Grocery's Central Market, where shoppers can vote for their favorite through Oct. 26.
Throughout the “Hail to the Cheese” event, shoppers can sample some of Central Market’s 500 foreign and domestic cheeses. Selections include Asiago, Bleu, Brie, Cheddar and Chihuahua. They can then vote for their favorite on Central Market’s Facebook page.
To build excitement, the retailer is distributing free “Cheese Party Pride” buttons that feature such slogans as “Vote Monterrey Jack” and “Brie Is for Me.”
Central Market’s website has an online cheese guide that explains the flavors and textures of each cheese candidate. Additionally, a variety of classes on how to cook with cheese are scheduled throughout the month.
